Vitus pitches Titans to split of NWAACC twinbill

Lane’s Chris Vitus struck out 11 with one walk and three hits in seven innings in a 7-3 baseball victory over visiting Chemekta Community College in the first game of an NWAACC doubleheader.

Kyle Hansen was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a run and a stolen base for the Titans, and John Miles went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs.

In the second game, Chemeketa’s Matt Wasson tossed a complete game in a 5-2 win. Kevin Shepherd was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run for Lane, and Miles went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
