Titans Voted 5th Overall in Final Coaches Poll of Season

Vancouver - The Lane Women's soccer team was voted 5th overall in the final coaches poll of the season, released by the conference on Nov.1.

Despite finishing 2nd in the South Region, the Titans earned a 10-1-1 (region) and have an overall record of 12-3-3. Lane clinched a playoff spot for the 11th year in a row and lead the South Region in goals scored (70), goals allowed (14) and shutouts (12). They are ranked in the overall NWAC top 5 both in goals scored and goals allowed. The team’s 12 shutouts on the season ranks 2nd in the NWAC behind #1 ranked Peninsula.

The Titan's only three losses this season were handed to them by the top three teams in the league: Defending NWAC champion, Spokane (2nd in the poll), Peninsula (1st in the poll) and South Region foe, Clark (3rd in the poll). The Titan's drew with #8 Walla Walla on the road earlier this season.

Lane plays at Titan Field for the last time this season, hosting Shoreline CC in a 1st round NWAC playoff game on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm. The winner will advance to the NWAC quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 5.
