GRESHAM, OR - On a very windy and warm Saturday, Lane was on a mission to continue its Regional dominance on the Track and in the Field.  The men claimed their ninth consecutive Regional title scoring 333 points well ahead of second-place Clackamas with 174 points.  The men event winners were Branden Helms (100m-11.05, 200m-22.07), Elias Gedyon (1500m-3:54.63), Kyle Ruhlin (Steeple-10:10.94), Kevin Accinelli (110H-16.12), 4x400 relay (3:20.41), Brandon Nash (HJ-2.07m), Joseph Hart (LJ-7.07m, TJ-13.48m), Danny Parks (SP-13.60m, Discus-49.69m), and Cory Miller who also qualified for the NWAACC Championships (Javelin-54.84m).

The women had some big performances on the way to their third straight Regional Championship.  Perhaps the biggest performance on the women's side came from Tara Carlton (pictured) who broke the school record and won the Pole Vault clearing 12' 1.25" (3.69m) to eclipse the old mark set by Lindsay Beard (12' 1.75").  The women scored 251.5 points to claim the title, with Mt. Hood a distant second with 209 points.  On the women's side the event winners were Allie Church (100m-12.41, 200m-25.27), Gylany Crossman (800m-2:21.15), Rachel Jensen (1500m-4:47.55), Barry McLaren (HJ-1.57m), Shay Applegate (LJ-5.38m), Kaimi Zablan (SP-12.36m), and Kayla Johnson (Discus-39.09m).  The Titans will be heading to the NWAACC Championships in Spokane, WA on May 21-22 to conclude the season.  Lane expects its depth and talent to put them in strong contention for the title with Spokane Community College who is the defending champion on both the men's and women's side.
