Titan men fall in tournament opener

WEED, Calif. — Kellen Gerig scored 23 points to lead Shasta College to a 77-62 victory over Lane at the College of the Siskiyous men’s basketball tournament on Thursday.

Blake Trent added 14 points and Jordan Spaschak and Hunter Johnson had 13 each for Shasta.

Keaton McKay led Lane with 21 points and Keiron Goodwin and Kylor Kelley added 15 points apiece. The Titans will play College of the Siskiyous at 4 p.m. Friday.
