Shepherd's 13th-inning triple gives LCC victory

LONGVIEW, Wash. - Kevin Shepherd broke a scoreless tie in the 13th inning with a two-out triple to right-center field and then scored on a wild pitch as Lane Community College beat Lower Columbia 2-1 in a nonconference baseball game Friday.

The runs made a winner out of Lane reliever Ben Schreiner (3-0), who allowed one run in five innings. The Titans ' first reliever, Jody Potter, threw 513 shutout innings.
