Riley’s hat trick lifts Titans to win

Erin Riley scored three goals in a nine-minute span late in the second half, and Lane broke away for a 4-0 victory over Shoreline in the NWAC women’s soccer playoffs on Wednesday.

The victory earned the Titans, the No. 2 seed from the Southern Region, a road game against Eastern Region champion Spokane on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Riley scored her goals in the 69th and 72nd minutes off passes from Ally King, and added another goal in the 78th minute for the hat trick. Emily Hillestad also scored for Lane, in the 85th minute.

Nora Goodrie earned the shutout in goal with four saves.
