Muha, Martin lead Lane to NWAC crown

LACEY, Wash. — Lane freshman Andy Muha edged teammate Michael Martin down the stretch for the individual title at the NWAC cross country championships Saturday, and Lane edged Spokane 42-49 for the team title.

Muha finished the 8,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 47.3 seconds, followed by Martin (26:56.9) in second. Lane’s Moises Martinez took seventh (27:43.7).

In the 5,000-meter women’s race, Lane exceeded expectations with Carly Kleefeld taking third in 19:35.2, and the Titans finished third with 84 points behind Spokane (41) and Treasure Valley (45).
