Lower Columbia hands Titans a pair of losses

LONGVIEW, Wash. The Lane Community College baseball team was handed its first losses of the season when it was swept in a doubleheader by Lower Columbia.

The Titans (4-2) lost the opener 4-3 in the 10th inning on a pinch-hit single by Chaz Ocbina with one out. Jess Long, Quinn Peck and Andrew Schumacher all had two hits and an RBI for Lane.

The Titans then fell 5-1 in Game 2. Ariel Schermerhorn hit a solo home run in the seventh to account for Lane's only run.
