LCC’s defense continues to stifle

VANCOUVER, Wash. — The Lane Community College women’s soccer team continued its solid defense with a 1-0 NWAACC Southern Region victory over Clark College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Titans (2-3-2) have given up just two goals in their past four games. They solidified their chances of earning a postseason spot by moving into third place in the division standings with Tuesday’s victory.
Tina Jackson-Berger scored in the 58th minute after cleaning up a rebound inside six yards after a shot attempt by Jenna Stewart.
LCC goalkeeper Marah Baker earned her second consecutive shutout, and third of the season, with 12 saves.
