LCC wins two at Treasure Valley baseball tourney

ONTARIO — Ben Schreiner earned victories in both games, and Lane Community College evened its record by winning a pair of games at the Treasure Valley college baseball tournament on Friday.

The Titans won the opener over Treasure Valley, 9-7, and then beat Prairie Academy of Alberta 8-7.

Kyle Hanson and Cory Staniforth each had three hits for Lane (3-3) in the first game, and Jody Potter was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer.

In the second game, Hanson hit an RBI single to score Chris Vitus with the winning run with two out in the bottom of the ninth. Hanson had two hits for the Titans.
