Lane women rise in basketball standings

PORTLAND — Rachel Fielder scored 22 points and Megan Still added 11 points and nine rebounds to help Lane Community College move into second place in the South Region with a 91-47 rout of Portland in a Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday.

Taeli Carrillo also scored 16 points, Sierra Carrier added 13 and Sarah Hall had 10 points and seven rebounds for the visiting Titans (20-6, 12-2), whose sixth straight win jumped them past Clackamas and into second place with two regular-season games to go.

Umpqua leads the South Region at 14-0.

Lane led just 25-20 after the first quarter but outscored the Panthers (7-19, 3-12) 66-27 the rest of the game.
