Lane women fall at NWAC tourney

EVERETT, Wash. — The Lane offense picked a bad time to go cold Friday night.

The Titan women could muster just one field goal in the fourth quarter and fell to Walla Walla, 85-62, in the quarterfinals of the Northwest Athletic Conference tournament at Everett Community College.

Lane advanced to the second round after a late-night 83-43 victory over Skagit Valley on Thursday but finish the season at 23-7.

The Warriors (30-1), meanwhile, face Big Bend in Saturday’s semifinals. In the other semifinal game, Umpqua (30-1) will play Bellevue (22-8).

Jade Skidmore finished with a triple-double for Walla Walla with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Cierra Jo McKeown led all scorers with 28 points.

Sarah Hall paced the Titans with 19 points, Rachel Fielder and Emma Jones each scored nine, and Amber Lease finished with eight.

Against Skagit Valley on Thursday, Taeli Carillo came off the bench to score 24 points, Hall added 17 and Fielder finished with 13.
