Lane sweep highlights Raider Invitational

ASHLAND — Lane athletes swept the top four places in the men’s pole vault to lead the Titans at the Raider Invitational track and field meet on Saturday at Southern Oregon University.

Justin Petz cleared 17 feet, 3/4 inches to win the event, and Keenan Calhoun and Wyatt Thompson-Siporen each cleared 15-1 to tie for second. The Titans’ Grant Shurtliff was fourth with a mark of 14-7 1/4.

Lane’s Cornelious Berry won the 400 meters in 48.46 seconds, and Jake Littrell won the 3,000 steeplechase in 9:51.24. In the field, the Titans’ Tristan James won the men’s long jump with a mark of 24-1.

Northwest Christian’s Eli Shelby finished second in the mile (4:25.78) and Lane’s Michael Martin was second in the 5,000 (15:12.35). NCU also finished second in the 4x400 relay (3:27.60).

In the women’s half of the meet, Northwest Christian’s Michelle Fletcher won the 3,000 steeplechase in 11:08.43, and Lane’s Meg Jackson won the javelin with a toss of 121-5.

Lane’s Emily Viuhkola finished second in the 400 (57.78) and Gabriella Mace was second in the 400 hurdles (1:07.44). Northwest Christian’s Macie Gale was second in the mile (5:12.90), Sydney Belcastro was second in the shot put (38-2 3/4), Morgan Fossen was second in the pole vault (11-11 3/4), Sierra Brown was second in the 5,000 (17:29.56) and Christy Seaton was second in the 100 hurdles (15.62).
