Lane splits doubleheader with Lower Columbia

LONGVIEW, Wash. - Lower Columbia College scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning late Friday night for a 2-1 nonconference baseball victory over Lane and a doubleheader split.

Andrew Schumacher scored for the Titans (6-5) in the top of the fifth on a wild pitch after he walked, advanced to second on a sacrifce and moved to third on Cory Staniforth's infield single that broke up a no-hitter.

Lane, which won the first game 2-1 in 13 innings, next plays a doubleheader at George Fox in Newberg at 11 a.m. today.
