Lane rallies for split with Chemeketa

SALEM — Jayden Hanna knocked in the winning run in the top of the seventh inning of Saturday’s second game and scored an insurance run later that inning to help Lane get an NWAC South Region baseball split at Chemeketa.

The Titans (22-19, 16-9), who have clinched an NWAC playoff berth, won the nightcap 9-7 after dropping the opener 9-8.

Bryce Mulcahy had a double, a homer, three RBIs and recorded the final out on the mound to get the save in the second game. Hanna, Tielar Murray and Thomas Rudinsky also had two hits for Lane in the nightcap.

In the opener, the Storm (13-26, 10-15) scored in five of the first six innings and then held off the Titans for the victory. Jackson Soto was 3-for-3 for Lane with a double, a homer and four RBIs. Hank Forrest had two doubles for Lane, and Murray also had two hits.
