Lane men’s team runs to South Region title

ROSEBURG — Michael Martin led a 1-2-3 sweep by the Lane men’s cross country team Saturday as the Titans took the NWAC South Region title at Umpqua Community College.

The Titans won the men’s meet with 27 points to 44 for runner-up Treasure Valley and 66 for third-place Clark.

Martin won the men’s 8,000-meter race in 24 minutes, 56 seconds, followed by teammate Andy Muha in 26:22 and Moises Martinez in 26:36.

Lane’s Nolan Bylenga was 10th in 28:52.

Treasure Valley won the women’s meet with 34 points to 45 for runner-up Clark and 51 for Lane.

Treasure Valley had the top two women’s runners over the 5,000-meter course, with Delia Deleon winning in 19:58 with teammate Indya Price second in 21:20.

Carly Kleefeld was seventh for Lane in 22:50 with teammate Rielly Frerk another second back in eighth place.
