Hillestad’s hat trick leads Lane

SALEM — Emily Hillestad had three goals and an assist for Lane Community College in an 8-0 women’s soccer victory against Chemeketa on Wednesday.

The Titans (8-2-2), who haven’t lost since opening the season 0-2, improved to 6-0-0 in the Northwest Athletic Conference’s South Region.

Hillestad scored the game’s first goal off an assist from Kyla Ganchan Romero in the 16th minute.

Hillestad also scored in the 50th and 61st minutes.

Besides Hillestad, Lane got first-half goals from Crystal Adame, Calysta Susu Mago, Katie Stimpson and Liz Mendez to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.

Valentina Loza also scored for the Titans, Erin Riley added a pair of assists.

Goalkeeper Nora Goodrie made one save to get the shutout, the third straight for Lane and seventh of the season.
