MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Keiron Goodwin topped himself Thursday night, and this time he carried the Titans with him.

The 6-foot-4 freshman guard from Seattle scored a season-high 46 points to lead the Lane men’s basketball team to a 96-86 victory over South Puget Sound in its opening game at the Skagit Valley Crossover Tournament.

Four days ago, against the same Clippers team, Goodwin scored what was then a season-high 37 points, but the Titans fell 103-96 on their home floor in the consolation round of the Dale Bates Tournament.

Goodwin had some help Thursday night in avenging the loss. Point guard Tre’Var Holland kept the ball moving with 15 assists while scoring 12 points for Lane (6-2), and Keaton McKay put up 25 points. Tayler Marteliz added six points, nine assists and four rebounds coming off the bench.

Wes Reynolds was the top scorer for South Puget Sound (6-2) with 23 points and was the game’s leading rebounder with 26.
