First-half goal stands up for Titan women

COOS BAY — Emily Hillestad scored midway through the first half and goalkeeper Nora Goodrie recorded four saves on her way to the shutout in Lane’s 1-0 women’s soccer victory over Southwestern Oregon on Wednesday.

Maile Sur assisted on Hillestad’s goal as the Titans remained unbeaten (4-0) in NWAC South Division play. Lane, which is 6-2-2 overall, has 12 points in league play and is in second place behind Clark (15 points).

The Lakers (4-0-6, 3-3-0) slipped into a tie for third place with Rogue with nine points.
