Distance represents on Day 1 of Chico

CHICO, CA - Even after a bus malfunction and a 1 hour and 40 minute halt in travel, the Lane Titans were able to still get some athletes in their races on Friday night of the Chico Twilight.  The delay in travel got the team to the meet about 15 minutes before the 800, which resulted in Elias Gedyon and Stetson Smith not getting to compete.  They will be moved into the 800 sections on Saturday.  Elias still did a hard 600 time trial as he is still in preparation mode.  Caleb Patrick (pictured) and Kyle Ruhlin ran their first 3k Steeple of the season finishing fifth and sixth respectively.  Patrick has never the run the event and just missed the NWAACC Qualifying mark by 0.28 running 10:20.23.  Rachel Jensen competed in the 5k after about a week and half off from having mono.  She cruised to an easy 19:50 which should get her into the event for NWAACCs.  The rest of the events will continue on Saturday, with field events starting at 3:30 and running events starting at 5.  Check back here for more recaps and results.
