Day 1 of Lane Preview in the books

EUGENE, OR - With some sunny skys and slight wind, the Lane Titan Men's and Women's track season has officially begun. On day one of the Lane Preview, the Men's Decathlon, Women's Heptathlon, and Hammer Throw and Pole Vault were contested. Shay Applegate (pictured) is leading the Heptathlon with a score of 2470 after completing the 100m hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, and 200m. Brandi Miller of Willamette University is second with 2337 points. Barry McLaren, competing unattached for the Lady Titans sits at 7th with 2139 points. Saturday's three events are the Long Jump, Javelin, and 800m all starting at 12:05pm.

Three Titans are competing in the Men's Decathlon, with unattached competitor, Thomas Cranor leading with 3237 points. Alexander Needham is currently in fourth with 2850 points after the 100m, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, and 400m. Josh Evans, also competing unattached is currently in sixth with 2606 points. On Saturday, the men will finish with the 110m hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin, and 1500 all starting at 10:30am.

The Hammer Throw and Pole Vault results will be available when the final results of Saturday become available. Keep checking back for results and recaps of the two-day event.
