EUGENE, OR -- Lane Sophomore Dakarai Hightower is less than a week away from competing in his first ever Olympic Trials.  Hightower won his second NWAC high jump title last month in clearing an all-time NWAC best of 7'05".

The high jump is scheduled for July 8th at 4pm.  Hightower is not the first Lane athlete to wear a Lane Titan uniform in an Olympic Trials. Javelin thrower Cyrus Hostetler holds that honor, as well.

Cyrus won the 2008 NWAC javelin title, the same year he competed in his first Olympic Trials.  He later went on to qualify and compete in the 2012 Olympic games.  He will be looking to make the team again-- the finals are on the 4th at 4:25pm (NBCSN comcast channel 732).

Finally, another former Titan, Jordan McNamara, will be trying to qualify for the Rio Games in the 1500 meters on Thursday, the 7th at (NBCSNcomcast channel 732).  Jordan owns several NWAC and Lane Community College distance records.
