4 Lady Titans record a point in 2-0 win against Chemeketa

10/17/2018 20:53

It was a slow start offensively against a compact defensive Storm team, but the Titans pulled away with a 2-0 win at Titan Field.

How it happened: The scoring started in the 30th minute when Brittany Smith assisted Aja Bumpus' 9th goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. The Titans took that lead into half before scoring their second and final goal in the 54th minute courtesy of Danielle VanOrd, who was assisted by Yuuyu Suzuki.

Notable players: VanOrd's goal was her 17th goal of the season, good for 3rd in the NWAC. Suzuki's recorded her NWAC leading 13th assist, 2 better than 2nd place. VanOrd is 3rd in total points with 39, and Suzuki is 7th with 33. Today was also the 10th time the Titans goalies recorded a shutout. A 1st half shutout for Hanalyn Sypher and 2nd half shutout for Kaitlyn Weber. The 10 shutouts are tied with Clark for the most in the NWAC.

What it means: The Titans stay in 2nd place as South leading Clark took down SWOCC 6-0 today.

What's next: It will be Sophomore day on Saturday the 20th, as the Titans play their final regular season game against the Portland Panthers at noon. There will be eight Sophomores honored at Titan Field.
